Sahira Fernandez Stepancic is the Chief of Student and Engagement at The Next Step Public Charter School (TNSPCS). She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.

Sahira has worked at TNSPCS for eight years, holding various positions throughout her tenure.  While at TNSPCS, she has expanded her expertise to include developing systems to combat youth homelessness, supervision of clinicians and case managers, and crisis management.

Her social work pedagogy was framed by the University of Maryland, where she earned her MSW, and Salem State University, which offered her BS in Social Work.  Sahira resides in Northeast Washington, DC, with her wife, daughter, and dog Jackson.
